PEREIRA makes history as the first to hold world titles in 2 GLORY weight classes simultaneously.
The records keep coming for Alex ‘Po Atan’ Pereira (31-6, 20 KO's).
Already the most dominant middleweight champion in GLORY history, the Sao Paulo, Brazil native today became the first fighter ever to hold titles in two GLORY weight classes at the same time.
Crushing knockouts are becoming standard for Pereira - four of his last five fights have ended inside the distance - but even so, his finish of Donegi Abena (24-6, 6 KO's) in the GLORY 68 MIAMI main event stands out as one of the most devastating of his career.
Victory would have made the 22-year-old Abena the youngest fighter ever to win a GLORY title. Instead, despite a valiant effort, he became the latest fighter to fall victim to the raw power of Pereira’s left hand.
